We are profound beings of intimate feelings. They are deeply emotional, highly personal, and most times, we don’t know what to do with them.
And so we invent. We invent words to try and make sense of our feelings. It’s our best attempt to contextualize and communicate what’s inside.
Bound by them, we put them in a book - a body of reference points that we hold on to for dear life…literally.
The truth is, how you want someone else to feel based on the way you feel is yours and theirs alone. It cannot be duplicated or confined by conventional words.
Feeling grateful, remorseful, or compassionate. Yes, on the surface, these words are in the dictionary…but that’s about it.
Be the definition that has no capacity for language, and let your actions speak louder than words.
